We welcome your enquiries by post, telephone, fax, email or in person at our unique shop which is open all year. We are located in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, less than 20 miles from Richmond, where you can enjoy a walk on the hills and a browse round the shop.

OPEN EVERY DAY except Christmas Day and Boxing Day 10:00am - 5:00pm
We close at 4:00pm during November, December, January and February.

More kind words from Mrs T's Danish friends....
...once in Yorkshire on holiday one of my good friends Kjeld P. came and visited me. Kjeld - you can also write it Keld, is an old common Danish name - and we of course had to visit Keld in Swaledale. On our tour we came to Muker and Keld bought himself a Fisherman's Rib Sweater in your shop. This year I came to the Dales with my father, 84 years old. And his name is also Kjeld - so we had to go back to Keld and had photos taken with the sign "Keld Only". So the village Keld has become quite famous in this part of Denmark (North Zealand near Copenhagen).
When Kjeld P. heard that I was going to be mentioned on your web page - he wrote in an E-mail: Dear Mrs. T! Please pass on my best compliments for their sweaters.
This is just to let you know I have today received the gloves knitted in grey Welsh wool by Mary Hall.
Just like the Navy Blue pair, they are perfect, and I am really pleased to have found Swaledale Woollens on the Internet! We had our first cold morning of the autumn today and I wore the gloves - ever so smart, snug fiitting, and really warm !

I particularly like how the sleeves are set into the body, something which must be difficult to design with so complex a pattern. I'm taking it to Mongolia next month to give it the -40C test. The cardigan with extra wool and buttons has arrived safe and sound. A lovely bit of work it is, with a good fit to boot. The craftsmanship is a credit to Margaret Smith - not to mention her getting a so remarkably good fit in custom goods from all the way across the Atlantic! The white/grey Welsh wool has a fine feel, and the randomly distributed wisps of darker grey scattered throughout make the garment most attractive.
